Inhabiting the remote and desolate region that is northwest Kenya, and usually left to their own resources, the people of Lake Turkana have always shown a remarkable ability to adapt. The recent Lake Turkana Festival highlighted the cultures of ten ethnic tribes from the area, while sending a warning signal to visitors about the challenges they now face.
